August is here! Here are some updates and fun things we have planned this month
Happy National Tiger Day! Penari, the Malayan tiger, has been winning hearts with his love for river swims. Unlike most cat species, tigers actually enjoy the water. Whether they`re cooling off, hunting, or just having fun, these big cats truly know how to make a splash! 
This #NationalZookeeperWeek, we asked our teams what being a zoological care specialist means to them. From fulfilling childhood dreams to advocating for conservation, their commitment to animals and wildlife shines every day!

Zoo Maintenance Alert
With nearly 40 acres to maintain, the Zoo requires constant care! We want to share some upcoming projects to help you plan your next visit.
July 21-August 1: Stingray Bay will be unavailable while work is completed on the structure around the habitat. The sharks and stingrays will be moved to behind-the-scenes pools during this time. Instead, stop by Sea Lion Cove for an ocean view!
August 25-29 Two of the African Adventure savannas will be undergoing maintenance. Some animals may not be viewable and giraffe feeding will be unavailable during this time. African Adventure fans can still enjoy the lions, meerkats, warthogs, and, of course, elephants!
